Thanks to NepRWA friend, Stephen Baird, for sending us his observations from a recent walk along the Neponset River!

Notes:

There is a bounty of waterfowl and wildlife to admire on Neponset River winter walks…
The Bald Eagle soared over the salt marsh and scattered the flocks of Hooded Mergansers, Common Mergansers, Bufflehead Ducks, and Great Blue Herons…
While Seals fished between the Rt 3 and MBTA bridges…
A Belted Kingfisher is spending the winter diving for fish from the Rt 128 Bridge…
Red Tailed and Broad Winged Hawks hunted rabbits, mice and voles from Fowl Meadow to the Pope John Paul Parks…
And American Tree Sparrow were plentiful…
White Winged Scoter and Common Elder bobbed on the harbor waves…
