It’s Official: Neponset River Greenway Trail Voted Best!

The Neponset River Greenway Trail was voted the 2018 "best neighborhood diversion in Dorchester" by the editors of Boston Magazine.

We knew it all along, but it’s always nice to have a little much-deserved recognition for the Neponset River, and the tremendous work done by so many community volunteers, agency staff, local officials, and others to make it the best!

The Neponset River Greenway Trail is an all-season, multi-use, asphalt path that can be enjoyed any time of the year. It’s great for walking, jogging, or biking. Suitable for all ages and abilities, and is handicap accessible.

  • Length: 8.2 miles
  • Trail end points: Tenean Beach at Conley St. and I-93/MA 3/US 1 (Dorchester) and Brush Hill Road and Neponset Valley Pkwy. (Readville)
  • Parking: There is free parking at the mid-way point of the trail at DCR Neponset Park, at the corner of Granite Ave. and Hilltop St. (Entrance to the park is on Hilltop St.) Paid parking is available along the trail at the Milton MBTA stop, 1 Adams St. and the Mattapan MBTA parking lot at 500 River St.
