Thurs., March 15 – CWMN Volunteer Appreciation Party, Canton – 6:30pm

We couldn’t do our water quality testing without you!

Please join us for our annual CWMN Volunteer Appreciation Party!

Thursday, March 15
6:30pm – 8:30pm

Canton Public Library
786 Washington Street, Canton, MA

This is our chance to say thank you for all of your dedication to the CWMN program. We know water sampling days are early, sometimes rainy, and sometimes slippery! What you do allows us to get a full picture of the health of the Neponset, and we really appreciate it. We’re very excited to share with you all what we’ve been doing with your data behind the scenes.

There will be pizza, refreshments, and socialization from 6:30-7:30, followed by a presentation of this year’s water quality results.

In addition, Bill Pastuzek from Trout Unlimited will be joining us to speak about the conservation of cold water fisheries in the area.

Any guests of volunteers are more than welcome to join us for the open portion of the night after 7 o’clock.

Please RSVP by emailing Annie O’Connell at o’ so that we know how much pizza to get. We hope to see you all there!

Current volunteer positions:

We need a driver! Each month after all the samples are taken, they need to be driven out to Deer Island in Winthrop to be tested by the MWRA lab employees. Even if you can’t commit to all 6 months, signing up for just one date would be a huge help.

If you or anyone you know might be interested in helping us out, please email Annie O’Connell at o’

I can drive the samples, within a day or two usually. If there is a tight time frame for delivery, that’s a different story.

    • Hi Susan!
Thank you for offering, but it is a tight window where we need the samples to be driven to Deer Island. We typically have all of the samples ready to go by 8 a.m. and they need to arrive in Winthrop by 10 a.m. on the same day they are collected.
