Canton High School Poster Project: Spring 2021

Students design creative solutions to educate the public about reducing stormwater pollution.

May 2021

NepRWA’s Outreach Director, Nancy Fyler, recently visited with Canton High School Computer Art & Design students, via Zoom, to talk about polluted stormwater runoff, what can be done to reduce it, and how art can help to make a difference.

While many solutions to stormwater pollution are implemented through science and engineering, there is still a lot that can be done through behavior change. Creative communications help to draw attention to the issue, educate the public, and encourage important change.

Students were challenged to create informational posters about the topic and they worked with CHS Visual Arts Teachers, Michelle Mendez, and Carol Gregerman to create the original artwork that you see below.

Thank you to the Canton Water & Sewer Department, which partnered with the Neponset River Watershed Association to fund the Water Education Program in Canton.
