The Conservation Committee, a sub-group of the Milton Garden Club, focuses primarily on the Neponset River and its environs. The club presents Milton’s 4th graders with a watershed curriculum, and sponsors an annual town-wide speaker, featuring a major conservation or ecological topic.
In October 2015, the Garden Club presented a Garden Club of America Flower Show titled, “Trailways and Waterways: Milton’s Natural Resources”, which showcased the various flora and fauna in our area, through floral arrangements, paintings, and photography.
The Conservation Committee produced an educational video for the show, which depicts the history and geography of the Neponset River, and they also created informational sheets about various places to visit, as well as displays on invasive species and sources of pollution.
