RiverArt: Plein Air
Art is an annual juried art exhibit & sale sponsored by NepRWA and the Forbes House Museum.
From
September 21-28, 2005,
the juried plein air art
of local artists was on display and for sale at the
Forbes House Museum in Milton.
Every
year, RiverArt provides the perfect opportunity to expand
personal art collections with
intelligent representations of outdoor scenery from around the Neponset Watershed,
in the form of photographs, oil-, acrylic- and
watercolor-paintings, drawings, and a variety of other media.
What
is plein air art? Literally, en plein air is French for in the
open air. Plein air art is made outdoors,
taking advantage
of the lighting on the landscape and the feel of the surrounding
environment. Artists finish all or most of their renderings outdoors,
onsite.
