What is a watershed?

A watershed is an area of land that drains water into a specific body of water (i.e., a pond, lake, stream or river).

The land that drains into the Neponset River is our local river watershed. In the Neponset River Watershed, there are 14 cities and towns. Can you guess which towns these are?

There are many small brooks, streams, and ponds that directly, or indirectly, drain into the Neponset River. These make up the Neponset River drainage system
